ISLAMABAD: After a break of nearly two weeks, India once again violated the ceasefire agreement on Friday and started unprovoked mortar shelling in chirikot sector of line of control. According to an ISPR spokesman, the Indian army started unprovoked shelling of mortars on Friday evening at 4:40 pm which continued till 5:40 pm. Pakistani troops effectively responded to the Indian shelling and targeted Indian check posts. Sources said that due to the Pakistan army’s befitting response, Indian guns become silent after their check posts have been damaged as well.

On the other hand, a foreign office spokesman condemned the unprovoked shelling on control line by India and said that in 2016, Indian forces violated the decade long ceasefire agreement over 90 times. Military sources said that loss of life or property was being checked in chirikot sector while local military commander will record a strong protest with Indian army on this violation.
