RAWALPINDI: A week-long cleanliness campaign has begun by the Solid Waste Management and is in progress.
Chairman Solid Waste Management, Raja Hanif Advocate, said that strict action would be taken against those found negligent in performing their duties.
He urged the residents not to throw garbage in open areas and in nullahs. He added that it was the collective duty of all the citizens to keep the city clean and called upon the people to make the campaign successful. DCO Talat Mehmood Gondal has directed the Solid Waste Management Company to come up with a plan to a proper disposal of waste during the weeklong campaign.
Meanwhile, the residents of Waris Khan, Arya Mohallah, Javed Colony, Nadeem Colony and Dhoke Elahi Bukush called for action in their localities – where the situation is pathetic.
