KARACHI: Karachi is the face of Pakistan and collective efforts will further improve the situation of the metropolis.

My responsibility as speaker national assembly is constitutional and I believe in supremacy of parliament so it is further strengthening the democracy in the country.
The sub-committee has submitted its draft on election commission reforms to the main committee and it will be tabled in the national assembly soon, he informed. Replying to a query, he said that the situation demanded that all political parties must unite and rise above their respective interests as well as to join hands for the national cause. “We have to work together for resolving issue and for the sake of national interests,” he added. He said he was fully conscious of his responsibilities and will continue to play his role as a bridge between treasury and opposition parties in the house.
To another query, he reaffirmed his commitment to maintain his neutrality as the custodian of the lower house of the parliament. Earlier, Speaker Ayaz Sadiq visited Dr. Zulfiqar Mirza and offered his condolences on demise of his mother. He also visited the residence of MNA Sajid Ahmed of MQM and condoled the demise of his father and brother.
