HYDERABAD: The Pakistan People’s Party has postponed its much publicized rally in Hyderabad scheduled to be addressed by its party Chairman, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Jan5.

Party had selected GTC ground, also known as Juma Bazaar ground for the rally, which was aimed to exhibit its strength. Sources in the party said that the rally was postponed as Bilawal would be out of the country on the announced date as. Senator Dhamra, who is also the Provincial Information Secretary of the PPP, was quoted as saying that rally has been postponed because of Bilawal’s pre-occupation.

Bilawal had to start his campaign “Dama Dam Mast Qalandar” from here on 5th against Nawaz Sharif’s government for not accepting his 4 points. Further, 5th is also the birth anniversary of Shaheed Bhutto, which the PPP observes throughout Pakistan. Dhamra said a new date for the rally would be announced after consultation with the chairman.

Another source told that Asif Ali Zardari was not in favor of Hyderabad rally, as he desired that Bilawal must attend Shaheed Bhutto anniversary at Larkana. The PPP Sindh’s President and Senior Minister, Nisar Khuhro had held a party meeting in Hyderabad on December 31 to finalize arrangements of January 5 rally.

He had also held a meeting with the District Administration for making arrangements of the rally. Party’s various wings had also held their meetings for instance Shugfta Jumari chaired a meeting of women wing, Lal Bux Kalhoro of PPP labour wing and Senator Ajiz Dhamra also chaired a meeting of Sindh Youth wing. The PPP media cell has also sent messages to journalists for getting their entry passes for the rally. But sudden postponement of the rally has disappointed public.
