President Arif Alvi, on Monday, once again condemned false allegations levelled by New Delhi against Pakistan in the wake of Pulwama terror attack. He said this in his address at an investiture ceremony held to confer awards on participants of the Pakistan Day Parade in Islamabad.

Referring to the tension in relations with India, he added, “Our air force shot down two of their fighter jets and one of them crashed on Pakistani soil leaving no option with the enemy to make a lie on it.”

The president made note of the war hysteria prevalent across the border while Pakistan gave the message of peace while demanding for the resolution of the Kashmir dispute through negotiations. Dr Alvi maintained that Pakistani security forces and the people have rendered unparalleled sacrifices in the war on terrorism over the last two decades or so, successfully tackling the menace.

Pakistan was a powerful country but it always desired peace, he remarked. The president took pride in the excellence of the country’s armed forces and called them best in the world in terms of their professionalism and discipline. He noted that even in the face of provocation, Pakistan had shown restraint and gave the world a message of peace.

Every Pakistani was ready to render sacrifice for his homeland, Dr Alvi asserted.
