City to have 60,000 CCTV cameras

Karachi: Chief Secretary Sindh Rizwan Memon has asked for coordinated efforts for acute implementation of the joint venture projects, aimed at completing them within the stimulated time. He was presiding a high level meeting on “Safe City Karachi”, which was attended by Secretary Home Qazi Shahid Parvez, Additional I.G. Prisons Nusrat Mangan, Secretary Information Technology Abdul Raheem Soomro and other senior officers.

Home Secretary briefed about the progress of “Safe City Karachi”, elucidating that Departments of Home, CTD, Sindh Police, IT and KMC. Modalities have been incorporated in PC-I, at the initial stage 60 thousands CCTV Cameras are to be installed in Karachi, in addition to thousands of Cameras already installed, by the Sindh Police and KMC.

Rizwan Memon categorically noted that needful must be accorded, as per approved plan, transparently. He asked the secretaries of Home and I.T. to sit together to remove the bottle necks and expedite implementation, thereof.
