Three bodies found in Barkhan; terror bid foiled in Quetta

Police Saturday found three bullet-riddled bodies in Tehsil Rakhni of Balochistan’s Barkhan district. Barkhan Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Haji Zamri confirmed the incident, saying the bodies were found from Zadin area and all the victims had been shot with multiple bullets.

The bodies were shifted to Civil Hospital Rakhni for autopsy, where they were identified as Elam Deen, Nizam-ud-Din and Raza Khan, all residents of Dera Ismail Khan of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

“The two among the deceased are brothers … so far no one has claimed responsibility for the killings,” the DSP said, adding that the bodies have been handed over to the legal heirs after completion of medico-legal formalities.

The local police has launched an investigation into the case after lodging a first information report (FIR) against the unidentified assailants.

Meanwhile, the law enforcement agencies foiled a terror bid by recovering a remote-controlled explosive device planted in the farmlands near Essa Nagri area of Brewery Road in Quetta on Saturday.

The Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) reached the site and diffused the bomb. The BDS officials said the explosives were up to three kilograms in weight filled with nails to maximise the damage on explosion.

The local police has lodged a case, while further investigations is underway.
