Ways to live freer and happier

Karachi: Exhausted? Let us lighten up a little. Reflex your arms and neck as we get ready to kick out some stress!

I know there are piles and piles of physical and mental work that keeps us on our toes throughout the day ranging from electricity bills to real-life “problem sums” that we don’t wish to solve.

Adulthood hits us hard and there are no maps and manuals to save us from it. Being an adult is like losing your mother in the grocery store for your entire life. There’s no way out! But then there’re tips and tricks to ease down a little bit.

FIND EXCUSES TO LAUGH OUT LOUD – well, not literally!

Find things that make you happy. Create a circle of friends that keep you motivated, happy and laughing your heart out. Staying positive is only possible when you turn a deaf ear to the negative things around you. Do more of what makes you happy. Play some Danish Ali videos

MEDITATE – give yourself a talk in the mirror. No, that’s not crazy! Everyone does it, but no one likes to confess it. Let things off your chest. Having some alone time helps us de-clutter our brain and put things into perspective. Pray and meditate all your demons away.

EXERCISE – there, I said it. You have been telling yourself that too. Here’s your sign from heaven. Start walking and working out for at least 45 minutes during the day. It sets you free of fat and detoxes your brain off the unnecessary. You will find yourself feeling lighter in weight and in your heart. Start today!

DE-ACTIVATE – disconnect yourself from things that waste time. It’s always a great idea to de-activate all social media accounts and go for a short trip or travel. It definitely pushes the re-start button on our brains. We all need a good break. Even God would’ve rested the seventh day. Take some time away from things that stress you out.

VENT IT OUT – not with people! Vent it on a paper, in a painting, through a song or through any channel of creativity that works best for you. Don’t hold that trash in your heart. Let it go. Enroll yourself into a pottery-making class or get some gardening or baking lessons. Spend time around nature. Speak your heart out to someone you trust if you really have to for once. Just like our digestive system needs a detox once in a while, our brain needs one too.
