Mosque attack

Author: Daily Times

Sir: The gruesome attacks at New Zealand mosques have sparked grief and anger among the Muslim Ummah. However, besides evidencing the rapid expansion of jingoism and paranoia in the West, it reflects the ineffectiveness of the government. As per the reports, the said attacks were planned for the offender has already shared anti-Islamic and chauvinistic feelings on his profile. If true, why was the instant action not taken against the attacker? Secondly, how did he easily manage to reach the mosques on the car armed with weapons?

Though the culprit is under custody, the concerned authorities need to wake up and take stern action against hate-mongers who are inciting racism and xenophobia in the society.
