Nawaz must resign or call fresh elections: Chandio

Author: By Masroor Afzal Pasha

KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister’s Adviser on Information Maula Bux Chandio said Nawaz Sharif had two options, either to call early elections or handover the premiership to someone in the Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N). He was addressing media after congratulating the newly elected office-bearers of Karachi Press Club (KPC) on Thursday.

“The premiership is a respectable post in the government and its prestige should be honored so the prime minister should either resign or call for early elections and come to the court of masses to decide his fate,” Chandio said. “Currently, the prime minister is hiding from everyone. He could face the people as the nation is asking only one question regarding the Panama Papers Scam. Incompetence of the rulers has affected the entire country with one thing, that is, the Panama Papers. Senior leadership of the PML-N is not available to answer the nation and they are refusing to face the media for this purpose.”

He said that Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto had introduced the slogan of ‘one person, one vote’ which was democratic and widely appreciated among the people of the country. “Z A Bhutto restrained his workers and people from protest while he was in jail and prevented the country’s disintegration at that period of time,” he concluded.
