KARAK: An oil tanker turned over on Indus Highway near Sapina area of Karak on Tuesday.
The tanker was travelling from Nashpa oil field to Karachi when the driver lost control of the vehicle as it overturned causing spillage of tons of litres oil.
The highway was cordoned off for traffic without further delay by the authorities, resulting in vehicles queuing up to a long distance.
A crane was used to station the oil tanker to an upright position and the locals enclosed the oil spillage with sand. The highway was opened for traffic after the tanker had been removed from the spot and the oil leakage swept off.
Five oil tanker related incidents, including today, have taken place during the course of last two weeks.
