Aitzaz Ahsan calls PPP his home, denies parting rumours

Author: Agencies

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) stalwart, Barrister Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan, on Wednesday rebutted rumours of any plans to leave the party; calling it his home. Referring to statements being attributed to him on the social media following the meeting between PPP Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari with the former prime minister, Nawaz Sharif, Ahsan clarified that he was only operating one account on Twitter under the handle of The Real Aitzaz Ahsan. Therefore, all posts made from other accounts under his name should be considered fake, he added.

PPP leader maintained that he had never said that Bilawal should not have met Nawaz and claimed that it was his party’s gesture to meet him in jail. He recalled, however, that when the ball was in Nawaz’s court, he had subjected former president Asif Ali Zardari to severe torture in jail.

On Monday, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari had paid a visit to the former prime minister in Kot Lakhpat jail.
