LAHORE: Deputy Inspector General of Police (Operations) Dr Haider Ashraf Friday said those put their lives at stake to secure lives and assets of the citizens were real heroes and the prestige of the Police Department.
Addressing an award distribution ceremony held to acknowledge courageous attitude of officers during strikes on January 4 near Kalma Chowk and Data Darbar, he said, “They [police officers] had set a wonderful example by securing the lives and assets of the citizen in a law and order situation.”
SSP Operations Muntazir Mehdi, SP Headquarters Ghulam Mubashir Makon, SP Model Town Operation and Investigation Ismaeel Kharak and Kashif Aslam, DSPs, SHOs and all other staff also attended the ceremony.
The DIG saluted the valour and bravery of the officers. “The way all the officers and staff handed the situation is matchless. If all officers and subordinated upkeep themselves by adopting such wonderful discretions for sustainability, then for sure no evil can disrupt the peace and harmony of the city.” SSP Operations Muntazir Mehdi added that the city police had once again proved to be the best. He too appreciated dedication and courage of the officers.
