Four policemen injured in CTD vehicle blast in Quetta

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Abdul Razzaq Cheema confirmed a Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) vehicle in Quetta’s Mian Ghundi area had been targeted in which four policemen were injured on Monday. Balochistan CM condemned the cowardly attack.

Rescue teams and security forces reached the site of the incident and shifted the injured to a nearby hospital. Security cordons were placed soon after the blast as investigators searched for circumstantial evidence.

As per police sources, the blast took place near a police vehicle. The explosive material had been installed in a motorcycle.

Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan strongly condemned the blast and regretted the injuries caused to the four policemen.

In a statement, the provincial chief minister said such “cowardly acts by terrorists could not undermine the resolve of security forces”. He added that law enforcement agencies will continue their operations until terrorism is completely rooted out. He directed the police to make security measures more effective to prevent any such incidents in future.

While praying for the speedy recovery of the injured, he stressed that they will be provided the best treatment facilities.
