Speaker Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Pervaiz Ealhi restrained the MPAs of the treasury benches to do politics and point scoring over the health issues of former three times Prime Minister and supreme leader of PML-N Nawaz Sharif. The health issues of former PM echoed for second consecutive day in the ongoing session of the Punjab Assembly as PML-N lawmakers once again demanded better health facilities for their leader by the Punjab government. The MPAs of PML-N from the opposition benches accused the Punjab government for not providing basic health facilities to Sharif. It is pertinent to mention here that the opposition also staged a walkout from the House last day on Wednesday while accusing the government of not providing health facilities to Sharif.

Speaker Ch Pervaiz Elahi constituted a committee over the issue under the chairmanship of Raja Basharat while asking the government to take the opposition on board on the issue. Provincial minister for Health Dr Yasmin Rashid and three members from the Opposition will also be part of the said committee. As the House proceedings started with a delay of two hours, former Speaker Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan, on a point of order, said that health issues come from the Almighty, but it is regrettable if his leader Nawaz Sharif is being made subject of political victimization. “It is serious concern for all of us that why Nawaz Sharif isn’t being shifted to Punjab Institute of Cardiology despite knowing that he is a heart patient,” he added. Later, the Speaker adjourned the session to meet again on Friday morning.
