Swat Motorway to strengthen CPEC in KP: Khattak

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Parvaiz Khattak on Saturday termed the Swat Motorway a major change factor to strength the back of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in the Province (KP).

The KP CM meets with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Economic Zone Development Company (KPEZDC) and said that Provincial government would help to enhance the production capability of the province through fruitful private and public investments.

He said the Swat Motorway would boost the Provincial economy and it will provide the shortest and smoothest road to transfer the energies and business from central KP to northern areas.

The Assistant to the CM on Trade Abdul Hakim, Advisor for Coordination and Development Akbar Ayub, related secretaries of the ministries along the Chief Executive Board of Investment and Trades were also present at the occasion.

Chief Minister Khattaksaid that Swat Motorway would prove vital source to facilitate the layout of CPEC a reliable source to boost the economy of Pakistan as whole.

The Chief Minister said that the support for CPEC was in the wide interests of the country and no chance will be left for the people to exploit the issue as if provincial government have problem with its imposition.

He further said that work would be completed as soon as possible to complete the project in due time and reserved resources.

Khattak also inquired about the situation of Rapid Transit Bus scheme and ordered the allotment of lands and to drive passages to select alternative routes for making the scheme on ground.

He said all the necessary objectives need to be achieved before starting the Rapid Transit Bus service in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The CM was informed about different packages of the Rapid Transit Bus Scheme that the first package would start from Chamkani and will lead to BalaHisar Fort Peshawar while the second package will end on Aman Chowk starting from BalaHisar Fort while the third package would lead to the Hayatabde.

The CM was also informed about the cutting and sales of tree to the timber houses which would add revenue of RS12 Billion to the provincial exchequer till June this year. He said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government would not hesitate to increase the power and gauge of the institutions which generate money for the provincial business circle.
