ISLAMABAD: The rape case registered against PML-N leaders in Sihala Police Station on New Year night has taken a new turn as the concerned SHO has taken over the investigation of the case and given liberty to the accused persons.
The victim lady is stated to have denied from the occurrence of such incident. The lawyers from both sides have kept mum over the case and decided not to utter a word about it.
Sources said that all the four accused involved in the alleged gang-rape of the lady in the name of giving her job have obtained bail from district court Islamabad.
Well placed sources told Daily Times that the pressure mounted by the influential accused and the police has forced the victim to withdraw the case in consequence of a deal struck any she got Rs 2.5 million.
All four accused had filed bail applications in the court of district and sessions judge Sohail Ikram. The accused Chaudhry Tausif is in jail while the arrest warrants of the remaining three accused including Tauqir, Kamran and Iqbal had been issued. Sources said accused Tausif had filed application for bail after arrest while the rest of three accused had filed application seeking bail before arrest in the court.
Investigation officer of the case Ghulam Rasool said SHO Sihala had taken over investigation of this matter from him for being high profile case and it was not in his knowledge to whom the investigation was assigned later.
He expressed ignorance about any development regarding non pursuing case by the victim lady. When contacted again the SHO of respective police station cut off the phone call which can be a proof of police involvement in the case.
The lawyers of both the sides have kept silence over the matter and they have refused to give any stance.
