LAHORE: At least 14 people were killed in a car crash on GT Road near Jhelum on Sunday, reported a local newspaper.
Eight men, four women and two children are among the dead, the District Police Office spokesperson said. Nine other were injured, some of them severely, Naveed Ahmed said.
The Rawalpindi-bound van collided with a car on its way to Islamabad. Three of the four passengers of the car died in the crash. Rescue teams are present on the crash scene and rescue operations are underway. Victims’ relatives have been alerted of the accident.
The incident is being investigated, police said. Separately, at least four people lost their lives in a fog-triggered road accident near Sahiwal where a heavy trailer collided with a bus coming from the opposite side.
