KARACHI: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Senator Saeed Ghani on Sunday said that those who are unable to get the control of Nine Zero have claimed to bring next chief minister (CM) in Sindh.

Ghani was addressing a press conference after a meeting with the delegations of Awami National Party (ANP), Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP), Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) who joined the PPP.

In coming days many other members of the PTI would soon join the PPP, Ghani said, “Hundreds of people were pledging their loyalties with PPP and PTI would also lose many of its members soon.”

He said, “The people were joining PPP because they seek development in Karachi. Many members of PSP and APML are joining the PPP.”

“Bogus legal cases were lodged against former minister of petroleum Dr Asim Hussain,” he remarked He said, “Hearings of cases against Dr Asim were being subjected to unnecessary delay.”

“Justice delayed is justice denied,” he said.

Ghani alleged the government and Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar for backing “fake” cases against the former PPP minister. “The courts are independent and thus should hear the cases without any delay.” The PPP never wanted to take over Karachi but will continue its struggle to win next general elections, he said, adding that everyone should work for the development of Karachi. To a question, Ghani said the Muttahida Qaumi Movement should first get control of its headquarters (Nine-Zero), then they (MQM-P) will be able to struggle for a separate province.

‘We’ll stage sit-in again if needed’

LAHORE: Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed on Sunday said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-led coalition would stage a sit-in if needed.

Talking to reporters at the airport, he said that judiciary is like Wall of China in front of corruption. He pronounced that a grand alliance of opposition would have been formed if former president Asif Zardari had not overpowered PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto. The AML chief predicted that Panama case’s result would be announced in January. Besides flaying the government, he also criticised National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq and said that no assembly can run and work properly while having a speaker like him. online
