Five killed, 20 injured as passenger coach collides with coaster

KANDHKOT: At least five people were killed and 20 others injured in a head-on collision between a passenger coach and a coaster at Dari Stop near Ghouspur Town on the Indus Highway on Monday evening.

Police and rescue officials said that the coaster collided head-on with the Peshawar-bound coach due to overspeeding near Ghouspur Town on the Indus Highway. As a result, five passengers were killed and 20 wounded. Three of the killed were identified as Farhan, Mst Saima and Mst Kiran while eight of the injured as Rafique Ahmed, Ms Saima, Suhail Ahmed, Asad, Ms Hira, Ms Kanwal and Farhan. The bodies and the wounded were shifted to Teshil Headquarters Hospital Kandhkot. Later, some of the critically injured were referred to Larkana hospital.
