PESHAWAR: A female Pakistani activist Mussarat Qadeem nominated for the Peace Award as recognition of constant awareness campaign against the rising tide of radicalization in the women society of KP and FATA. The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) will honor the award to Mussarat Qadeem in Thailand next month.

The UNDP officials told Daily Times on Monday that the award was the recognition for the long life achievements accomplished by Mussarat Qadeem in the conflict ridden zone of the Pakistan where undertaking such measure seems impossible for women. “She played a pragmatic role to sensitize women folk of her belt and region regarding the outbreak of terrorism, fanaticism and fundamentalism and steer them toward right direction to play positive role in the society building,” the official maintained.
