ISLAMABAD: Senate Chairman Mian Raza Rabbani on Tuesday said Iranian people have lost a great leader and Pakistan has lost a true friend with the death of Ayatollah Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani.
He expressed these views while recording his impression in the condolence book during his visit to the Embassy of Islamic Republic of Iran to condole the death of the former Iranian leader and president Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani.
Rabbani, while condoling the death with Iranian Ambassador Mehdi Honardoost, said the Muslim world had lost a great visionary leader. He said that Rafsanjani played a dynamic role to further strengthen the already strong friendship between Pakistan and Iran which is based on common religion, culture and identity of views.
The Senate chairman prayed for the departed soul and conveyed his condolences to the people of Iran on this great loss.
