5 siblings died after consuming poisonous food in Karachi

KARACHI: 5 siblings died after consuming poisonous food on Friday in Karachi. Police told in a media briefing.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Gulshan Tahir Noorani said that the siblings ages range between 1.5 years to 10 years old. The mother of 5 children is also in critical situation. The family consumed food in a restaurant in Saddar Area.

According to Deputy Inspector General South Sharjeel Kharal, Father of the 5 siblings said that the family had eaten food from the said restaurant after which his wife and children fell sick. They were taken to a private hospital where the children died. Their mother is in critical condition.

The family hails from Quetta. The fathersaid that the family has also had lunch at Khuzdar Balochistan, and then they consume some chips and juice in Hub.

Police said they are trying to collect all the samples family has consumed. DIG South told the media that employees  of the said restaurant have been detained by police and the crime scene has been secured. A team of doctors has also been formed to conduct the post-mortem of the deceased.
