I want to build awareness about marital abuse through my drama: Ramsha Khan

Author: Ayesha Mansoor

The latest superstar of the Pakistani drama industry, Ramsha Khan, has been blessing our television screens with her enchanting performances.

The video jockey turned actress who made her debut with the film ‘Thora Ji Le’, had been a part of the modelling fraternity for quite some time. In an interview, she talked about how she loves game developing, calling herself a nerd. Ramsha Khan also described herself as someone who does not plan too ahead and lives in the present, doing roles that excite her.

Her genuineness is what makes us fall in love with her even more. Khan not only has a charming personality, but she is also a ravishing beauty who mesmerises the audience with her on-screen charisma.

She is currently starring in two ARY Digital dramas, ‘Khudparast’ and ‘Kaisa Hai Naseeban’ which are currently on air and are fetching raving reviews for her. Both dramas are doing exceptionally well and one of the reasons for that is definitely Khan’s brilliant acting. She plays Maryam in the latter. While talking about the drama serial, Khan said that she was drawn towards the script because, “I wanted not just to play a mazloom larki on TV, but also build awareness about marital abuse that’s so prevalent in the society and how it’s important to find the strength to fight for yourself.”

This on its own is a reason enough to love her. We definitely need more actresses willing to act in dramas like these in order to raise more awareness about issues like domestic abuse which are usually brushed under the carpet.

Khan has a talent of absorbing her character and doing justice to whatever role she has been given. As passionate as Khan is about her acting, it reflects in her roles, which makes the audience fall in love with her performances. This is actually a plus point for her because both of the projects are of sensitive issues that are being practiced in our society, so it’s essential that the audience is able to connect with it.

The other role that she is nailing with her acting prowess is that of Uswa in ‘Khudparast’. Uswa is a 180 degree opposite of Maryam which shows how capable Khan is when it comes to diversity in roles.

We can’t wait to see what Khan has in store for us this year, as the actress is not coming slow!
