International Court of Justice (ICJ) President Abdulqawi Ahmed Yusuf called on Thursday Tasadduq Hussain Jilani, an ad hoc judge in the ongoing Kulbhushan Jadhav case, to inquire about his health. Justice Jillani left the court proceedings at Hague after falling ill on February 18. He was suffering from Pneumonia. According to sources, the former CJP may join Thursday’s proceedings at the ICJ “as his health has improved”. Justice (retd) Jilani, the sources added, has also been provided with the details of all court hearings till date. On Wednesday, the Indian legal team sought annulment of Jadhav’s death sentence and a retrial in a Pakistan civilian court with full consular access.
