Recently, several Bollywood, as well as international actors, joined hands to support a drug-free India campaign. The first event for the same took place in Chandigarh. Sanjay Dutt and Kapil Sharma, too, joined the movement.

Says a source, “Sanjay flew in from Jaipur where he was shooting for Panipat. He wanted to be part of the campaign and share his story with the youth present. He shared his tryst with drugs and how it completely broke him. He said his dad Sunil Dutt helped him overcome this trying phase.”

Sanjay said, “I appeal to everybody to join this important movement and save the future of our youth.” Kapil, too, teared up while sharing his experience. The stand-up comedian and TV host hit a career low when his love for alcohol had an adverse effect on his profession as well as his relationships.

“Kapil spoke about how he was consumed by the bottle. He recalled seeing his mother break down. That’s when he decided to kick the habit,” added the source. Sonakshi Sinha and rapper Badshah, who were shooting for their next film in Punjab, also pledged their support for the cause.
