ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari on Wednesday condemned the arrest of Sindh Assembly Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani and asked for amendments in National Accountability Bureau’s laws.
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad Asif Ali Zardari said “Arrest of Sindh Assembly Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani has challenged the democracy. There is nothing new, he said, adding that National Accountability Burau’s (NAB) law should be amended.
The former president said that PPP is ready to face the accountability watchdog.
Earlier today, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) arrested Agha Siraj Durrani in assets beyond meaning, embezzlement of funds and illegal appointments cases.
In a press release the NAB confirmed the arrest of speaker Sindh Assembly Agha Siraj Durrani. He will face an inquiry for accumulating assets beyond his known sources of income and misuse of public funding.
