LAHORE: Tehmina Durrani, wife of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, has announced to donate assets of her non-governmental organisation (NGO) – Tehmina Durrani Foundation (TDF) – to the Edhi Foundation after her death.

Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday at her residence, she announced establishment of NGO – TDF – and also announced to donate all belongings of the NGO to Faisal Edhi, son of late philanthropist Abdul Sattar Edhi.

“I know well, the all inclusive faith Edhi Sahib had in his son Faisal, to uphold his unprecedented legacy of public service and shall not hesitate to stand beside him whenever Faisal Edhi requires my services,” she added. “The TDF will make the world aware about the vision and real message of Abdul Sattar Edhi, and will work for provision of homes to homeless children and their welfare across Pakistan other war affected areas. Besides it will also aware the world about women’s importance defined by Islam.”

Talking about the working of the TDF, she said: “Having witnessed the inexplicable toll of an endless war on the children of Afghanistan, Kashmir, Palestine, Iraq, Somalia, Syria as well as many other countries and the predictable terrorists spill over into Pakistan, the TDF is committed to securing the future of the planet by securing the children of all and any war across the world.”

Giving details about the vision, mission and the reason behind establishing the TDF, she said she wanted to spread the message of “Edhism”. “The TDF will also establish teaching centres which will be integrated with essential facilities and ambulance services,” she said, adding: “The TDF will also spread the humanitarian philosophy of Edhism across the world. I have unwavering faith that the TDF will very rapidly become a major contributor to the world’s future evolution.”
