Nawaz requests for extension in hospital stay

Author: News Desk

Former Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif, on Tuesday, filed a petition at the Islamabad High Court (IHC), requesting that he needed more medical care at the hospital. “I’m being discharged from the hospital to be sent back to jail when, in fact, I need further treatment,” the petition read. He has also asked the bench to allow the submission of reports by a three-member special medical board of the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) and a four-member team of doctors of Jinnah Hospital, Lahore. His earlier request for bail on medical grounds was adjourned till February 20 by the IHC on Monday. During the hearing, Sharif’s counsel, Khawaja Haris, had argued that his client’s medical treatment was not possible at Jinnah Hospital, Lahore, and he should be shifted to the PIC.
