Daachi Foundation is entirely a non-profit organisation that was created in 2010. Its aim is being enhanced by a team of dedicated volunteers to promote our country’s heritage. In a short time span after creation, Daachi Foundation has earned recognition and appreciation, not only from the craftsmen and entrepreneurs, but also from potential clients, which is a great achievement.

Exhibitions are a source of awareness that helps in creating awareness amongst people of upper and mediocre class, whereas art is something that exhibits the creativity of your hands and mind. This can only be done with the help of synthetic energy of merging colours which results in being a masterpiece. Similarly, an exhibition in Lahore took place which unveiled the shades of graphics. Exhibitions of Daachi Foundation holds its arts and crafts Exhibitions bi-annually in which crafts persons bring about a sense of awareness in people by identifying their own identity by promotion of culture through crafts, folk music and traditional cuisine and entrepreneurs from all over the country participate as it helps them in taking up an opportunity to use a platform to display and sell their products by charging them at low percentage of their nominal cost.

Recently, Daachi exhibition took place in Lahore. The venue was Qasar-e-Noor, Community Centre, Model Town. The timings were from 10am to 8pm. Each ticket cost Rs 200 and discounted tickets were priced at Rs 100 for students. The basement of Qasar-e-Noor Hall was filled with stalls that offered multiplicity of first-hand products.

Daachi Foundation also comes up with Daachi Nama which is a magazine that represents the true culture of the country. The readers of the magazine can enjoy articles on healthy lifestyle, food, music and ideology of Pakistan. It helps convey cultural norms and values of the country

There were around 60 different stalls that displayed lacquer art furniture, hand-painted potteries, stalls of herbal products for hair and skin, decorations made from salt of Khewra Salt Mines and a wide galleria of hand painted frames of calligraphies at reasonable prices.

This well-organised event won the hearts of many as it disseminated the skills that Pakistani people possess.

A large number of tourists visited the display and were inspired by the uniqueness. The main aim of looking out and endorsing our cultural heritage, creed and environment was attained. It sponsors our ethnic craftsmen/artists and promote a sustainable lifestyle.

Traditional food stalls were impressively decorated in a ground. The menu awakened the tastes of Lahoris after long. The highlighted items were laddu pitti, gol gappas and a variety of pakkorras. On some days, the exhibition also fell prey to heavy rains but the attendance of people never once diminished.

The only drawback over their arrangement was that their display could have been placed at a much spacious area rather than a basement which was congested as the attendees were a lot.

Daachi Foundation also comes up with Daachi Nama which is a magazine that represents the true culture of the country. The readers of the magazine can enjoy articles on healthy lifestyle, food, music and ideology of Pakistan. It helps convey cultural norms and values of the country.

Moreover, Sabz Daira is mostly about well-being and ecological problems that arise when we lose our connection with nature. Sabz Daira is about reinstating to form a strong bond between a human being living a healthy lifestyle. It also stimulates a healthy régime by introducing fresh prepared cuisine, usage of non-biodegradable materials and educating children to implement healthy living, through seminars and documentaries on health and environmental issues.

I can’t think of any better platform to gain knowledge and spread words of encouragement for a great lifestyle.
