Over 35 local, foreign exhibitors exhibiting most modern water-related techniques

KARACHI: Three-day Pak Water Expo was inaugurated with 10 million rupees deals on the opening day here at Expo Centre Karachi. The event will introduce world’s most modern water related technologies.

Sindh Minister for Local Government Jam Khan Shoro initiated the Expo. Director Prime Kamran Abbasi and Director K-IV Project Dr. Saleem were also present on this occasion.

Pak Water Expo, a second exhibition of its kind exclusively focuses on water and water-related industries. This event was organized by Prime Event Management with the support of Karachi Water & Sewerage Board (KW&SB).

Local and international exhibitors are gathered under one roof to display their technology and equipment for potential household and industrial consumers. More than 35 companies are exhibiting their products and equipment to be used in water treatment, water desalination, water conservation, water distribution, wastewater management, effluent treatment, water recycle and reuse and waste water sludge disposal.

Talking to media persons after visiting the expo, Sindh Local Government Minister Jam Khan Shoro lamented that a large number of companies are selling mineral water which is not registered. He directed the officials to finalize a SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) that must be implemented in its letter and spirit.

To address the water shortage issue, we will have to go for water desalination in Karachi. Many industries and domestic consumers are already using desalination plants, which are good and should be promoted, he added.

Responding to a question about Dr. Farooq Sattar’s offer of support, Jam Khan Shoro said that he will first request him to lend a helping hand for ongoing 100 days cleanliness campaign in city. After this campaign, we will request his support to addressthe water shortage issue, he concluded.

Sharing details about the event, Director Prime Event Management Kamran Abbasi told that Pak Water Expo is a perfect platform for water & wastewater industry. Its focus is to make consumers aware of the latest technology of water purification systems in the world.

He told that deals of 10 million have been matured in the first day and they are expecting more than 30 million business agreements to be done during these three days.

Abbasi stressed that water is an essential part of utility for every industry. Agro, dairy, food, pharma, textile, power, chemical, beverage, auto, sugar, and virtually every industry has water-related equipment and plants installed. In recent years, the importance of water has gained a central stage in policy formulation for every government. This event will offer tremendous business opportunities for companies and people engaged with water and related industries, he assured.

On the second day of event, an expo summit will be held, in which Dr. Atif Mustafa, Farhan Arooj, Director Engineering, Universal Environmental Engineering, Malaysia and Engineer Malik Saleem Ullah Saeed, Director Business Development WEMS Group of Companies will deliver their lectures.
