LAHORE: The Total Parco Pakistan Limited (TPPL) has donated 832 litres of aqueous film forming foam (AFFF) to the Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) for chemical firefighting on modern lines.

The TPPL CEO and safety head handed over the AFFF to Rescue 1122 Director General Dr Rizwan Naseer during a ceremony held on Tuesday here at Rescue 1122 Headquarters. They further agreed upon to bring technical experts from abroad and to assist Rescue 1122 for establishing a modern high-rise building related to health and safety. The DG expressed his gratitude for their contribution to the noble cause of serving humanity by providing them with the foam.

He said that the Rescue 1122 had responded to over 87,000 fire incidents in Punjab and saved losses worth over Rs 200 billion since its inception in 2007. He said that those organisations always flourish, which conduct their business in a way that is ethical, society friendly and beneficial to community in terms of development. He asked donors to step forward and join hands with Rescue 1122 in other sectors, including training of rescuers, emergency management and firefighting.

TPPL CEO Olivier Sabrie said that the Total Parco Pakistan Limited considers social commitment as its prime responsibility. He said, “Contribution to community development and environment, disaster relief, road safety and access to energy were few focused areas of our CSR Strategy.”
