Night of oppression will end soon: Maryam

Author: News Desk

The Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Shahbaz Sharif and Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leader Maryam Nawaz called upon former prime minister Nawaz Sharif at Jinnah Hospital on Saturday. Maryam expressed her concerns over the authorities shifting her father to Jinnah Hospital instead of taking him to Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) against recommendations of the medical board in her comments to media persons. She was greeted with flowers and slogans upon her arrival to the hospital. The former first daughter expressed hope for regaining strength in politics by saying “soon the night of oppression will come to an end.” Punjab government had directed the jail officials to transfer former premier from Kot Lakhpat jail to Jinnah Hospital, Lahore, on Friday. While special arrangements were made to ensure his safe and secure stay in the hospital, Nawaz expressed his discomfort over the facilities available in the VVIP block. After rejecting two hospital rooms on the basis of poor provisions, he was satisfied after the installation of television in his room. The 32-inch LED was borrowed from the office of the hospital’s medical superintendent (MS).
