Dollar closes flat versus rupee in interbank

KARACHI: The US dollar closed flat against the rupee in the interbank market on dull demand by importers, said treasurers. The greenback closed at Rs 104.40 for buying and Rs 104.60 for selling, currency traders said.

The rupee is likely to remain firm because of insignificant demand by the corporate sector. Banks remained capable to meet their demand, which puts the rupee firm. The euro closed at Rs 110.10 for buying and Rs 110.30 for selling, shedding 90 paisas. The pound sterling closed at Rs 126.90 for buying and Rs 127.20 for selling. It lost 36 paisas.

Kerb market: The rupee ended slightly low in the open currency market, said foreign exchange dealers. The US dollar closed at Rs 108.35 for buying and Rs 108.55 for selling, gaining 05 paisas from previous session’s level. Earlier in the day it was trading at Rs 108.34 for buying and Rs 108.54 for selling.
