Pulwama attack: India withdraws Most Favoured Nation status for Pakistan

After the Pulwama attack, India withdraws most favoured nation status to Pakistan on Friday.

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said they withdrew the most favoured nation (MFN) status to Pakistan. He said that Indian government has decided to take steps to ensure diplomatic isolation of Pakistan.

In the World Trade Organization (WTO), this status implies non-discrimination, treating for all intents and purposes everybody similarly. “Every country treats the various individuals similarly as ‘most-favored’ exchanging accomplices. On the off chance that a nation enhances the advantages that it provides for one exchanging accomplice, it needs to give the equivalent “best” treatment to the various WTO individuals with the goal that they all stay ‘generally supported. Removal of this status means that India can now increase custom duties on the imports from Pakistan.

Islamabad strongly condemn the allegation of attack without investigations.

DR Mohammed Faisal said that “We have always condemned acts of violence anywhere in the world”. He said that “We strongly reject any insinuation by elements in the Indian media and government that seek to link the attack to Pakistan without investigations”.
