MULTAN: Tragedy struck on Thursday when, in the early hours of the day, a Japanese man committed suicide by jumping off the roof of his hotel on Tariq Road.
According to police officials, CCTV video revealed the man going to the roof of his hotel at 3 in the morning before he jumped off and fell onto the ground below, dying instantly. In a letter, found in his room after the incident, the man wrote of his intention to commit suicide after enduring a host of family troubles.
The man had travelled from Japan for the purpose of working on a project in Dera Ghazi Khan, officials said. His body was shifted to Nishtar Hospital for medico-legal formalities.
