COAS pays tribute to martyrs, witnesses concluding session of competition

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa visited Jhelum and Kharian Garrisons on Thursday and was given a briefing on operational readiness at Headquarters Central Command.

COAS visited Para Ranges at Jhelum and witnessed the concluding session of Army Firing Competition. A total of 667 military and civilian shooters from across the country participated in four weeks long event. The highlight of the event was participation of 86 war wounded officers and soldiers in the competition. Appreciating their performance, COAS said with more focused preparations our teams could excel in international competitions.

Addressing the garrison officers, Gen Bajwa appreciated the officer’s role in counter terrorism operations as part of Operation Zarb-e-Azb and paid rich tributes to the martyrs and injured who sacrificed a great deal while upholding national dignity.

He said that Pak Army is a force to be reckoned with and its pride and credibility shall be upheld through selfless performance of its officers.

The COAS was received by Commander Central Command Lieutenant General Umar Farooq Durrani on arrival.
