MULTAN: The Punjab food Authority conducted multiple raids in Multan on Thursday and sealed various production units for using harmful ingredients.
PFA Deputy Director said that the department raided a sale point for fake teabags. He said that ingredients such as chickpea skins, cloth dyes and other harmful substances were being mixed into the bags. The PFA confiscated 3000 kilogrammes of fake teabags and arrested 3 suspects involved in their sale.
In another raid, the PFA sealed a toffee manufacturing unit for using harmful substances as ingredients and seized 4500 kilogrammes of substandard toffees.
A third raid was conducted on the production unit of a famous bakery. The unit was sealed for using bad eggs and substandard flour along with having an extremely dirty environment. 1500 kilogrammes of substandard eatables were also confiscated.
