PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Thursday suspended the execution of a death-row inmate who was sentenced to death by a military court for involvement in terrorism.

A PHC division bench suspended the execution of Qasim Shah who was sentenced to death by a military court for involvement in an attack on a non-governmental organisation located in Mansehra, in which five people lost their lives. The relatives of the convict had filed a review petition in the PHC, after which the execution was suspended.

It is worth mentioning here that the PHC had also suspended the execution of another death-row inmate Fazal Rabi on August 29, 2016.
