Precious lives and culture

Author: Daily Times

There is a need for serious introspection about bullfights associated with traditional socio-cultural celebration in parts of Asia, Africa, Latin America and Spain. In a 21st century we cannot just overlook the serious threats involved to both human and animal lives in the name of tradition, faith and culture in some countries across Eastern and Western hemispheres.

It is questionable that how many participants do have any real professional training and proper experience in handling massive agitated bulls which could always run into unpredictable accidents leading to serious injuries and deaths.

The lives lost in this process and the trauma suffered by the unfortunate animals during traditional bullfights is both unacceptable and unnecessary with respect to rising global animal rights and prevention of cruelty towards animals. People in both developing and developed nations need to seriously think about the consequences and dangers associated with bullfights.
