Rescue 1122 to get 10 ‘two-wheeler ambulances’

LAHORE: The Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) will get 10 motorbike ambulances from Glasgow to provide timely and quickly response to patients in narrow and congested areas of the city.

The ambulances will be handed over to Rescue 1122 Lahore on upcoming Saturday. This was revealed during a meeting of former Scottish lawmaker Hanzala Malik and Lahore Mayor Colonel (r) Mubashar Javaid at Town Hall on Thursday.

Rescue 1122 Director General Dr Rizwan, Overseas Pakistan Commissioner Afzal Bhatti and officials of Metropolitan Corporation were also present. Speaking on the occasion, Malik said that motorbike ambulances would be a token of love for the citizen of the metropolitan city. He said the Punjab chief minister was very well motivated to provide best facilities to the people of the province and it was due to his interest that Glasgow, sister city of Lahore, decided to provide motorbike ambulances for different cities of Punjab, including Lahore, for quicker response in case of medical emergencies.

Malik said that out of 300 motorbikes ambulances, ten ambulances would be handed over to Rescue 1122 Lahore this Saturday, while rest would be given after training session of Rescue 1122 employees.

The Lahore mayor thanked Hanzala Malik on this cooperation of Glasgow administration. He also said that the Metropolitan Corporation would provide best facilities to citizens. “The motorbike ambulances would go in narrow streets in case of emergencies and would be helpful in providing first aid on urgent basis,” he added.
