Five-day multinational maritime exercise ‘AMAN-19’ begins today

KARACHI: The five-day multinational maritime exercise AMAN-19 started in Karachi from today (Friday).

The drill is aimed at fostering maritime cooperation, promoting safe and security maritime environment for regional and global stability and for preserving oceans which is the common heritage of mankind.

During the flags raising ceremony, flags of 46 countries participating in this year’s drill were hoisted.

Commander Pakistan Fleet Vice Admiral Amjad Niazi while addressing media representatives said that this exercise will comprise two phases in which contingents of forty six countries will take part.

He said these exercises are arranged by Pakistan Navy after every two years since 2007 which are aimed at conveying message of peace to the world.

He said that international maritime conference will also be arranged on the occasion.
