Woman shot dead in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: Unidentified gunmen shot dead a woman in provincial metropolis on Thursday. An official of Pahari Pura Police Station said that unknown gunmen open firing at a woman when she came out of her house for a work in Sikandar Town Corporation Colony. The official said that the woman who was later identified as Ishrat Shaheen, resident of Punjab, was shifted to hospital in critical condition, but she was succumbed to her injures. As per the initial report, the police said that the woman was married to Muhammad Amir. She was divorced some five years ago due to family disputes, but she was living alone in colony. The police registered FIR and started investigation.

86 suspects: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Police arrested 86 suspects while raiding in different districts of KP on Thursday, Police sources said, adding the arrests were made in Peshawar and Swabi. According to details, 16 suspects were arrested from Peshawar and seventy in Swabi. Arms and ammunition were also recovered from them. An official said that they had recovered pistols, Kalashnikovs and eight repeaters. Official admitted that incidents of targeted killings had increased in Swabi district despite reduction in wave of terrorism in other parts of province.
