CDA claims to have recovered 80 kanals of encroached land from E12

After years of filings complaints and pleading with concerned authorities, the residents of E-12 sector after a span of 33 years, finally seem to be granted their demands and rights as the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has now helped them out.

CDA had denied the residents of their rights despite them paying full costs of their plots, development and additional charges in 1989.

CDA and Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration in a recent anti-encroachment drive retrieved 80 kanals land in E-12 from the encroachers and land grabbers and gave it back to their rightful owners.

It is pertinent to mention that CDA acquired sector E-12 in 1985 and paid cost of land to the concerned land owners and then launched a housing scheme there in 1989. Comprising 4,430 plots of the sector, 2,730 were allotted to CDA employees, 1,700 plots were allotted to in service and retired federal government employees including widows of deceased employees and other stakeholders.

Most of the real owners of E-12 have now passed away as for 33 years they begged CDA to have their land released

CDA had received full cost of plots, development and additional development charges from the rightful owners back in 1989 but the civic agency in 33 years of highest negligence made the owners wait for establishing the sector. Most of the real owners of E-12 have now passed away.

CDA & ICT claim that they have retrieved 80 kanals land in a fresh anti-encroachment drive on Thursday at the premises as well as other 1,000 kanals will be retrieved from the encroachers in the coming days for ensuring the establishment of the sector as soon as possible.

“According to the officials of CDA, the sector was delayed for 33 years due to corrupt practices in land directorate as well as low visionary approach of the top brass of the civic agency.

CDA Official Spokesperson Safdar Ali Shah remained unavailable for comment.
