ATC allows security for Musharraf homecoming

KARACHI: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Friday accepted former president General (rtd) Pervaiz Musharraf’s request for security in order for him to come back to Pakistan.

The ex-Chief of Army Staff had earlier said that he wanted to come home provided he was given fool proof security.

While hearing the Judges Detention case, the ATC ruled that Musharraf would be declared a proclaimed offender if he did not appear in court on February 9.

The court also ordered the Interior Ministry and Islamabad Inspector General to ensure his security.

Musharraf had initially left Pakistan for Dubai in March of last year, proclaiming ongoing medical issues as the reason.
