ISLAMABAD: Federal Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry on Thursday said that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif should resign as chairman Public Accounts Committee (PAC).

Addressing a press conference after the cabinet meeting the federal minister said that PAC chairman Shehbaz Sharif is trying to protect some of the elected representatives, who are being investigating by National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

He said that the NAB’ procedures need to be transparent and impartial. “In the session, there was no discussion on Aleem Khan’s arrest under the NAB,” he said.

The federal minister said that the army and government currently have best coordination in the history of the country.

Prime Minister Imran Khan has ordered measures for the progress of people belonging from the erstwhile Federally Administered Tribal areas, which were earlier merged with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, he said.

On the subject of increase on gas bills, Fawad Chaudhry said that external audit of the additional gas bills has been ordered.
