ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Peshawar Zalmi’s captain Darren Sammy has said that Pakistan feels like home, after he concluded his two-day visit of Peshawar. In a message on his way back to Saint Lucia, the 35-year-old said: “It has been a pleasure to visit Peshawar, in fact it is an honour to be in Peshawar. I want to say thank you Peshawar and all of Pakistan for continuing to show me their love. I want to say thank you to my brother Javed Afridi. I have nothing but love for this guy. I could now say, it feels like home whenever I visit Pakistan.” Commenting on his relationship with the franchise he said: “I don’t know, what put Darren Sammy and Peshawar Zalmi as a franchise together. But I think it was meant to happen. I’m grateful for everything that franchise has done for me and for the people of Pakistan.” He also showed optimism about team’s chances ahead of the next edition of PSL by stating: “Inshah Allah we will win the cup. We want our trophy back from Islamabad.” Sammy – who represented West Indies in 38 Tests, 126 One-Day Internationals (ODI) and 68 T20Is – reached Islamabad on February 4 to attend kit and anthem launching ceremony of the franchise. During his visit, the former Windies captain visited Army Public School in Peshawar.
