Census in Faisalabad to start from March 14

FAISALABAD: The first phase of population and house census will start in the district from March 14 for which the department concerned is completing arrangements.

In this regard, a meeting was held on Friday to review arrangements with Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Muhammad Shahid in the chair.

Assistant commissioners of all tehsils, including Jaranwala, Tandlianwala, Sammundri and Chak Jhumra, Census Assistant Commissioner Zahoor Ahmed, Assistant Statistical Officer Fazal Elahi, and Elementary Education District Officer Mazhar Warraich were also present on the occasion.

The meeting was apprised that a month-long staff training for census would be held from February 6 to March 6. The control rooms in all the tehsils would be functional from February 1.

Zahoor Ahmed said staff for census would be deputed by dividing tehsils into circles and blocks. He said the district coordination committee would supervise the census operation, adding that necessary material for census would be handed over to staff on March 14 while house census would be held from March 15 to 17 and population census from March 18 to 27.

The house and population census for nomads and homeless people would be held on March 28, he said.

Muhammad Shahid on the occasion said the district administration would extend all-out cooperation for census operation, adding that assistant commissioners would be responsible for distribution and transportation plan in their respective tehsils.
