Why did thou depart?

Author: Ali Jan Maqsood

Thou came silently,

Elaborated our friendship gradually,

Became my Jan,

My little angel,

Asked for my company till last breath,

I would, I promised,

Thou prayed for my safety,

Fulfillment of all my wishes,

Called me Lala, thy only elder bro,

Smiled with me each second,

A different sort of happiness surrounded us with each other,

The graveyard felt proud of us,

I smiled for thou was around,

Thou became the search of my eyes each day,

Life was as smooth as never,

But,

Thou chose opposite of what thou said,

May thy compulsion,

Or got fed up of my company,

I am unaware,

Where thou art now is my search,

In the city of lights or in the little Paris,

I visit everywhere to look for thee,

But I fail to get to you,

Like always, I get back to the place we firstly met,

Our old dwelling,

The graveyard with the soulless graves,

And the loneliness,

Waiting for thee each day,

Vociferating to myself,

Asking myself the soul question,

Why did thou depart without informing?
