Task Force examines Torkham border arrangements

Task Force members paid a day long visit to Torkham on Saturday and examined overall situation on the Pak-Afghan sharing border, Torkham to make possible initiatives to keep Pak -Afghan border open round the clock on the direction of the Prime Minister Imran Khan.

The visiting officials comprised Task Force from Ministry of Interior including Project manager NADRA, Faheem Murtaza, Director FIA Shahzad Haidar, Director FIA Peshawar Hayat Gandapur, Ministry of Finance represented by project director ITTMS Muhammad Ali Raza, additional director transit trade Peshawar Amjad- ur- Rehman , collector of custom, Peshawar Dr M. Jadoon.

Officials of Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) were foreign sectary Tehmeena Janjua, Director General AIT Hafeez Chaudary, additional sect MOFA M. Ijaz, Director (Afghanistan) MOFA Yassir Hussain, DHM Kabul (MOFA) Shahbaz Hussain.

Ministry of Commerce represented by director general trade policy Muhammad Ashraf while from Ministry of SAFRAN senior JT sectary Akhlaq Rana.

In the same way, Assistant Sectary Law and order Dr Falak Naz of Ministry of National Food Security and Research and VCGS (A) Maj General Sabir Shamshad, DMO Ops (B) Brig Adil Iftekhar wariach of Ministry of Defense were among the visiting officials.

In addition Assistant Sectary and Law and order Zubair Asghar of Fata Secretariat and Inspector General Frontier Corp Major General Rahat Naseem, Col Haroon, Commandant Khyber Rifle Farrukh Humayun and General Manager NLC Col®Abdul Aziz of HQ 11 Corps represented their respective departments.

The Task Force visited Torkham gate, pedestrians’ terminal. The visiting officials watched immigration process and examined scanner machine in import terminal where they were briefed by the officials.

Earlier, the officials arrived to Landi Kotal cantonment through choppers where they were received by the Commandant Khyber Rifle Col Farrukh Humayun.

On this occasion strict security measures had been adopted and FC troops had deployed on Landi Kotal-Torkham highway.
